Bhattadev University is a public state college situated at Pathsala, Bajali region, Assam. The college is laid out by Bhattadev University Act, 2017 which was passed by the Governor of Assam on 7 September 2017. It was made by redesigning Bajali College of Pathsala, Bajali area. It was named after Sri Bhattadev, otherwise called Vaikunthanath Bhagwat Bhattacharyya, a significant preceptor of the Ekasarana Naam Dharma and the dad of Assamese writing since he formed Shrimadbhagawatam and Shrimadbhagawatgita in old style Assamese exposition in the seventeenth century AD. The UGC has perceived Bhattadev University as an establishment "enabled to grant degrees as determined by the UGC under area 22 of the UGC Act 1956 by directing courses through its own specializations, its constituent schools and additionally through its partnered schools in customary mode with the endorsement of concerned legal bodies/boards" vide its letter F.No. 9-12/CURRENT_YEAR (CPP-I/PU) dated 25 September 2019.
