University was founded in 2010 and was formerly known as the Roorkee College of Engineering. All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), and the Ministry of HRD (Government of India) have all given their approval to the private university known as Haridwar University Roorkee. AICTE, CMAI, and MTU have named it the "Best Technical Institute in Uttarakhand." According to the India Today Survey, Haridwar University is ranked 145th out of 246 colleges for BTech programs in 2023.

In the engineering, management, tourism, pharmacy, and commerce departments, the institution provides diploma, undergraduate, and graduate studies. The university's most popular courses are the BTech, MTech, MBA, and BCA programs. Merit-based admission to Haridwar University courses is contingent upon passing entrance tests such as GATE and JEE Mains. JEE Mains scores are acceptable for BTech admissions, while GATE scores are recognized for MTech admissions. In order to give its students exposure to a global perspective, the university also maintains an international relationship with Universidad Abierta Interamericana (UAI), Argentina.

Haridwar University Eligibility:

UG Course-

Applicants must have passed a 10+2 passed or equivalent with a minimum of 45% (40% for reserved categories) for all type of UG courses, but for B.Sc. in Ag, a minimum of 50% (45% for reserved items) is required in grade 12.

PG Course-

Applicants who already hold a Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or suitable combination with a minimum score of 45% (40% for reserved categories) are eligible for this.

Doctorate Course-

An applicant holding a Master's degree (PG) in a relevant/relevant subject with at least 55% of marks is eligible to apply for both a Master of Philosophy and a Ph.D.

PG Diploma-

Students must graduate with a 50% of mark or any other related course from an accredited board or university. Admission to PG diploma courses is also based on an entrance test, which is also part of the admission requirements at some universities.

Diploma Course-

10th from an accredited board with a minimum of 45% of marks (40% for reserved categories) is required for eligibility for Polytechnic and D.Pharma degrees.

Certificate Course-

For Certificate courses students must have a graduate degree from an accredited university in any stream. Students for UG certificate programs must have completed their 12th grade with at least a 55% of average marks from a respected board.

University specifically administers the university-level Uttarakhand State Entrance Exam (UKSEE). All UG courses provide admission via this entrance exam. University accepts a variety of tests depending on the program type.

PG Course-

Doctorate Course-

University will administer a 100-marks written exam to candidates to gauge their aptitude for related-subject research. This examination will go for a total of two hours.

Diploma Course-

An entrance exam is being administered offline at Haridwar University, the exam is given at a number of locations, including Almora, Nanital, Kashipur, Dehradun, Srinagar, and New Tehri.  Student who clear this exam, are eligible to sit at Haridwar University.
