Himgiri Zee University was founded in response to the increasing need for skilled labor in a range of professional, academic, scientific, and social contexts in order to direct human potential toward long-term social and economic advancement.

Shri Subhash Chandra, Chairman, Essel Group of Industries and Zee Telefilms, assembled a dedicated group of anthropologists, sociologists, economists, and development communications specialists in 1995 to establish the TALEEM Research Foundation in Ahmedabad with the goal of improving education and employment. The Himgiri Zee University's establishment was one of the goals assigned to the Taleem Research Foundation.

Himgiri Zee University Eligibility:

UG Course-

Applicants must have passed a 10+2 passed or equivalent with a minimum of 45% (40% for reserved categories) for all type of UG courses, but for B.Sc. in Ag, a minimum of 50% (45% for reserved items) is required in grade 12.

PG Course-

Applicants who already hold a Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or suitable combination with a minimum score of 45% (40% for reserved categories) are eligible for this.

Doctorate Course-

An applicant holding a Master's degree (PG) in a relevant/relevant subject with at least 55% of marks is eligible to apply for both a Master of Philosophy and a Ph.D.

PG Diploma-

Students must graduate with a 50% of mark or any other related course from an accredited board or university. Admission to PG diploma courses is also based on an entrance test, which is also part of the admission requirements at some universities.

Diploma Course-

Certificate Course-

University specifically administers the university-level Uttarakhand State Entrance Exam (UKSEE). All UG courses provide admission via this entrance exam. University accepts a variety of tests depending on the program type.

Doctorate Course-

University will administer a 100-marks written exam to candidates to gauge their aptitude for related-subject research. This examination will go for a total of two hours.

Diploma Course-

• Applicants may submit their applications in person or online for admission to any course offered by Himgiri Zee University. The official website offers a download link for the online form.
• The University Office has application forms and a prospectus available for purchase. Registration costs are Rs. 1000 and Rs. 15000. Demand drafts made payable to "Dehradun" and made out to "Himgiri Zee University" are required for all payments. Additional forms are available for cash at the PNB branches in Yamuna Colony and Dehradun.
• After the deadline, incomplete registration or application forms will be summarily dismissed without notifying the students.
• It is recommended that students thoroughly fill out the relevant areas and include copies of all necessary, properly authenticated certifications.

Answered Scholarship:

• Merit Scholarships: Students who receive above 90% of the possible points in the qualifying exam may be eligible for a tuition fee waiver of up to 100%.
• Girl Child Scholarships: Students who are female and have scored at least 60% on the qualifying exam may be eligible for a fee remission of up to 100%.
• Sports Scholarships:  50% of tuition is waived for athletes competing at the national or international level
• Defense Scholarships: Children of the armed forces may receive a 50% tuition cost waiver.
• Alumni Scholarships: Recipients' children may be eligible for a 20% tuition price waiver.
