About IIT Jodhpur
Setup in 2008, the Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur (IITJ) is a top-ranked public technical university based in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. It was one of the eight new IITs approved by the Government of India under The Institutes of Technology Act, 2011. The institute functions from a sprawling 852-acre campus along National Highway 65, about 24 km from city center. The permanent campus was opened by PM Narendra Modi in 2023.
