- Candidates can apply for a master's degree in their field of study, an allied field, or an inter-disciplinary field with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD) or an equivalent grade.
- Admission to the Ph.D Program is open to applicants who hold an M.Phil degree or higher.

- There will be a 100-mark KNU-RET. The test will last three hours all together.
- There will be two 50-point parts to the KNU-RET.
