Giving a big gift to the youth, the Madhya Pradesh government has increased the age limit for appearing in MP PSC examinations and recruitments. However, the age limit has been extended for candidates belonging to economically backward classes. But this will benefit a large number of economically weaker upper caste candidates.
As per the announcement of the state government, there is a relaxation of five years in the upper age limit for the EWS category candidates to apply in the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission’s State Service Examination and other recruitments. After this relaxation, the upper age limit has been increased to 45 years for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes and now for economically backward classes.

Earlier the upper age limit for general and unreserved category was fixed at 40 years. Because of this, many candidates belonging to the general category, despite being economically backward, could not apply after the age of 40. However, now with the relaxation of the upper age limit by five years to the EWS category candidates, they will be eligible to apply for state government jobs up to the age of 45 years like SC, ST and OBC candidates.

MP PSC i.e. Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission had also issued an order in this regard late on Thursday, February 10, 2022. In such a situation, now the maximum age limit of EWS category candidates has been increased to 45 years like SC, ST and OBC category candidates. However, there is no relaxation in upper age limit for General i.e. unreserved category candidates. The maximum age limit for them will be 40 years only.
State Service and Forest Service Exam
According to the decision of the court after increasing the age limit by the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission, a special window of application is being opened for the State Service Preliminary Examination and State Forest Service Examination 2021. The online application link for EWS category candidates is being re-activated from February 14 to February 24, 2022. The State Service and Forest Service Preliminary Exam is scheduled on April 24, 2022.
