The Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India University, Nagaland Act of 2006, which was approved by the Legislative Assembly of Nagaland, established the ICFAI University, Nagaland.Under Notification Number, the University has been informed.According to Section 22 of the UGC Act of 1956, the University is authorized by the UGC to award degrees.

The University is run in accordance with the Act, Rules, and Statutes.The Chancellor is in charge of the Board of Governors, which also includes the Vice-Chancellor and other members.The Vice-Chancellor is in charge of the Board of Management.All academic matters fall under the purview of the Academic Council.
