IIHMR University, Jaipur has been laid out and integrated as a postgraduate examination University by Government of Rajasthan vide the IIHMR University Ordinance, 2013 (Ordinance No 30 of 2013) proclaimed on September 27, 2013, by the Governor which was supplanted by the IIHMR University Act, 2014 (Act No. 3, of 2014) passed by the State Legislature on February 07, 2014. The Act of 2014 got the consent of the Governor on the 25th day of February 2014 and was told in Rajasthan Gazette Extraordinary on February 26, 2014. It has considered to have come into force on and from September 27, 2013.

As characterized in Section 4 of the IIHMR University Act, 2014, the target of the University will be to attempt just post graduate schooling and examination in the disciplines indicated in Schedule II and such different disciplines as the University may with earlier endorsement of the State Government, decide now and again and to accomplish greatness and confer and scatter information in the said disciplines.
