Industrial Training Institutes
Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) are government or privately administered institutes that provide vocational training to students after Class 8 or Class 10. Their main aim is to develop skilled manpower in various trades and provide jobs in both government and private sectors. These institutes are governed by the Directorate General of Training under the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship.

ITI Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification:
Pass in Class 8th or Class 10th from a recognized board varies depending on the trade.
Some trades require pass in Class 12th.
Age Limit:
Minimum: 14 years
Maximum: 40 years (relaxation for reserved categories)
Medical Fitness:
Candidates are required to be physically fit, especially for engineering trades.

ITI Application Process
1. Notification:
Published every year on the respective State Skill Development Department websites
2. Registration:
Candidates have to complete an online application form.
3. Document Upload:
Upload the scanned certificate, photograph, & signature.
4. Application Fee:
Differing by state generally 100–250 for General and less for reserved categories
5. Submit and Print:
Submit and retain a copy of the application form.
ITI Admission Process
Merit-Based:
Merit list is made by the majority of the states on the basis of marks obtained in Class 8/10.
Entrance Test:
Entrance tests are conducted by some of the states for admissions to popular trades.
Counseling Rounds:
Candidates selected for counseling & seat allotment are called.
