M.Phil. (Master of Philosophy) is a 2-year full-time postgraduate course CURRENT_YEAR. The minimum eligibility for which is Master's degree in Science, Arts or Engineering. To be eligible for M.Phil, students need to obtain a minimum of 55% marks in their chosen subject at the postgraduate level Duration. A written examination followed by a personal interview round may be conducted to test the knowledge of the student. The duration of the course may also vary as per the rules and regulations of the respective institute.
Eligibility criteria for admission in M. Phil programme CURRENT_YEAR
Candidates for admission to M.Phil. program must have a Master's degree or a professional degree declared equivalent to a Master's degree by the relevant statutory regulatory body with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade 'B' in the UGC 7-point scale (or equivalent grade). In a point scale wherever grading system is followed) OR An equivalent degree from a foreign educational institution recognized by an assessment and accreditation agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority established or incorporated under any law in its country or any other statutory body in that country for the purpose of assessment Established or incorporated by the authority. To accredit or ensure the quality and standards of educational institutions.
Relaxation from 55% to 50% in marks or equivalent relaxation in grades may be allowed for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/PWD and other categories. As per the decision of the Commission from time to time, or for those who obtained their Master's degree before September 19, 1991. Qualifying marks of 55% (or equivalent grade in point scale wherever grading system is followed) and relaxation of 5% for the above mentioned categories is admissible on the basis of qualifying marks only without involving grace mark procedures.
M.Phil Course Application Process CURRENT_YEAR
The University shall admit M.Phil students through an entrance examination conducted by notification from time to time and may fix different terms and conditions for the common entrance examination. Scholars are qualified in the entrance examination and called for interview and after successful completion of the entrance examination the admission is confirmed subject to the submission of eligibility documents.

M.Phil Course Admission Process CURRENT_YEAR
- Admission to MPhil is mainly through entrance examination followed by personal interview conducted by the concerned institute/university.
- Candidates who have qualified national level entrance examinations such as NET JRF/NET LS are exempted from the university level entrance examination but must qualify a personal interview before securing a seat in the programme.
