The minimum cumulative grade point average for the degree must be 55% or a grade of B on a 7-point scale. SC/ST/OBC candidates may be granted a 5 percent exemption.

Qualifying Entrance Test (QET) scores are used to determine admission to Manipur University; however, applicants who have completed an M.Phil. program or who have passed UGC NET or UGC CSIR NET do not need to take the written exam.

The QET lasts for two hours and awards 100 marks all together.The MCQ exam requires a qualifying score of 50, and those who pass must participate in the interview.The interview, which will be worth 50 points, will consist of two parts: a personal interview about the research proposal in the first part of the interview.
