The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is a once-a-year all-India entrance test for MBBS admission. According to the NMC Act, CURRENT_YEAR, the NEET Undergraduate (UG) is the single entrance test for admission to all medical colleges across India, including the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER).From 2012 onwards, the All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT) was replaced by the National Eligibility Cumulative Entrance Test (UG), also known as NEET-UG. NEET is a competitive entrance test for admission to MBBS and BDS degrees that is held by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) until CURRENT_YEAR.

Eligibility Criteria:
- Must have received a 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as core courses. Aspirants who have completed Class 12 or equivalent are also eligible to apply for NEET-UG.
- The general age limit is 17 to 25 years old (on or before 31st December of the same year) 17 to 30 years SC/ST/OBC/PWD

Exam Updates CURRENT_YEAR:
The NTA has agreed to hold the NEET UG Exam in May CURRENT_YEAR, with a tentative date of the 2nd of May. The final date is scheduled to be announced in the second week of January CURRENT_YEAR, and the application window will be available from February to March of that year.

Exam Reservation:
Aside from EWS and OBC, Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) seats account for 15% and 7.5 percent, respectively (ST). While applying for NEET UG CURRENT_YEAR admissions, medical students must fill out their NEET-UG reservation criterion.

Test Comparison:
The distinction between NEET UG and NEET PG is that NEET UG is the medical entrance examination for admission into undergraduate courses such as MBBS, BDS, and so on, whereas NEET PG is the entrance examination for admission into postgraduate courses such as MD, MS, MDS, PG diplomas, and so on, in all of India’s prestigious colleges. Both NEET UG and NEET PG have completely distinct scopes. As a result, students should be aware of this and prepare accordingly.
