In 1962, in honor of the centenary of the legendary poet Rabindranath Tagore's birth, the Rabindra Bharati University was established. Tagore was the first person from India or Asia to win the Nobel Prize for Literature. In accordance with the guidelines established by the University Grants Commission, Rabindra Bharati University accepts applications for the Ph.D program online. The program is offered in the Faculty of Arts, the Faculty of Fine Arts, and the Faculty of Visual Arts throughout the academic year.

Rabindra Bharati University PhD Admission Eligibility Criteria

Ph.D programs are open to applicants who have completed their Master's degree with a UGC grade of 55% or higher in the relevant field. An interview is followed by a written test for admission.

Rabindra Bharati University PhD Admission process

• A written exam is required of all applicants. To guarantee a seat in the course, candidates must pass the interview if they are qualified.
• The Written Entrance Test will not be taken by those who have taken the NET/SET/GATE, Teacher Fellowship, or M.Phil program.

Rabindra Bharati University PhD Admission Entrance exams

• A three-hour written exam with a total of 100 marks and an interview are required for admission. There will be two 50-point papers for the written exam.
• The first paper, which is based on Research Methodology and is called the Common Research Aptitude Test, is required for all faculties of Arts and Fine Arts. For the duration of one and a half hours, there will be a total of fifty multiple-choice questions with one point each.
• The second paper will be topic-specific. It will have objective questions with 10 and 20 marks, respectively, as well as a 20-mark essay writing test with a minimum of 300 words.

• Complete the application in accordance with your professional and academic information.
• Upload the image and signature (with a maximum file size of 100 KB).
