The first Unitary University in North Bengal to offer both undergraduate and graduate courses on its own campus is Raiganj University. The university, which opened in 2015, has 22 undergraduate departments, 23 postgraduate departments, and 17 departments that offer Ph.D programmes. The university was established by West Bengal Act XXVI of 2014 and is in Raiganj, West Bengal, which is the district headquarter of Uttar Dinajpur. Merit, an entrance exam, counseling, and a personal interview determine admission.

On its own campus, this university also offers undergraduate General Courses in two shifts, morning and evening. Numerous research activities, including the M.Phil, have expanded Raiganj University's scope, and also doctoral programs. Raiganj University PhD Admission Eligibility Criteria

Candidates for the M.Phil who have completed or are awaiting their final semester's results Students who graduate from this university with a cumulative grade point average of at least 55% or an equivalent grade on the university's grading scale are eligible to pursue Ph.D.-level research. D. Education Depending on the decision made by the University Grants Commission or other statutory bodies from time to time, candidates from the following groups may be granted a relaxation of 5% of their marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent grade reduction.

Raiganj University PhD Admission process

The results of any other public examinations (PG, UG, HS, Madhyamik, or equivalent) will be taken into consideration if more than one candidate received the same score on the entrance exams. The Entrance Test will not be taken by those who have passed the NET, SET, GATE, or MPhil.

Raiganj University PhD Admission Entrance exams

• The Composed Entrance Test will be directed for 100 imprints. The remaining 50% of the exam will be based on the research methodology, and the remaining 50% will be subject-specific.
• To be considered for an interview or viva-voce, applicants must score at least 50% on the written portion of the entrance test.
• The candidate's performance on the entrance exam and viva-voce will be used to make the final decision.
