The IAF conducts the Air Force Common Admission Test, or AFCAT, to select Class-I Gazetted Officers in Flying and Ground Duties (Technical and Non-Technical). The test is held twice a year, once in February and once in August/September.AFCAT is a gateway for both male and female applicants interested in joining the Indian Air Force on a Short Service Commission in the Flying Branch and a Permanent Commission/Short Service Commission in Ground Duties for both technical and non-technical jobs. Candidates are chosen based on their performance in the online exam and the interview with the Air Force Selection Board (AFSB). Candidates who choose the Ground Duty (Technical) branch must take both the AFCAT and the Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT).

Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates must meet the IAF’s criteria for nationality, age restriction, educational level, and physical standards in order to be qualified for the AFCAT test 2024-25. The following are the AFCAT eligibility requirements:

English Section Syllabus:
