Establishment of Matsya University, Alwar was announced in budget speech of 2012-13 by Hon'ble chief minister of Rajasthan. Gazette notification of University was done on 23-08-2012 (Matsya University Act, 2012 No. 29). Further the name of university was changed as: Raj Rishi Bhartrihari Matsya University, Alwar on 04-07-2014 by notification No. 2 (14) Vidhi/02/2014 of state Government. Presently temporary campus of the University is located at Girls Hostel Building of BSR Govt Arts Collage, Alwar. The permanent Campus of University will at Village Haldeena Tehsil Malakhera after Completion of construction work of building.
