ABANINDRANATH TAGORE SCHOOL OF CREATIVE ARTS AND COMMUNICATION STUDIES, SILCHAR (ATSCACS)

Assam University, Silchar established the Department of Performing Arts in the year 2017 under Abanindranath Tagore School of Creative Arts and Communication Studies to nurture and promote the heritage and contemporary culture of India with a special focus on the North-East. Since its initiation, the Department is running a Bachelor of Performing Arts programme and offering BPA degrees in Hindustani Classical Music (Vocal), Drama/Theatre, Manipuri Dance, and Instrumental Music (Tabla). In less than Five years, with collaborative efforts, the Department of Performing Arts has expanded its reach beyond the state of Assam and now has a good number of students from different parts of India.
