The Science & Technology University Meghalaya (USTM) is the first State-Private University of Science & Technology in all of North East India. In its first cycle of testing in 2024-25, the National Assessment and Accreditation Council gave the university an accreditation rating of "A Grade."The ERD Foundation, Guwahati, provides financial support for the university, which is only 10 years old.The university is located on the Assam-Meghalaya border at Baridua, 9th mile, opposite the CRPF Camp in the Ri-Bhoi District of Meghalaya, in a picturesque setting surrounded by tranquil greenery.It is about 6 kilometers from Dispur, the capital of Assam, and 85 kilometers from Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya.The campus is well-connected by rail and air, being just 30 kilometers from Guwahati International Airport and 15 kilometers from Guwahati Railway Station, respectively.

The University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya was established by the Legislative Assembly of Meghalaya under the provisions of the University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya Act (No. 6 of 2008), which was published in the Government of Meghalaya's Gazette Notification No. LL(B)87/2008/21 on December 2, 2008.Under section 22 of the UGC Act of 1956, the University Grants Commission grants USTM authority to grant degrees in accordance with UGC guidelines.Additionally, it has been granted the necessary approval by the AICTE, New Delhi; MBA, B.Ed., and BCI programs will be offered in New Delhi by NCTE, ERC, Bhubaneswar, and BCI.D. Pharm. and B. Pharm. are the respective LLB (H) and BALLB (H) programs.
It provides candidates with 17 specializations with a full-time Ph.D. program that lasts three years.The applicants with 55% of imprints in their Lords are qualified to apply for the course.The students have the option of applying offline or online.

For the Engineering Field, the candidates must have a minimum of 60% marks in their Masters from a recognized university. The candidates must have passed their master’s in the respective discipline with at least 55% of marks.
The academic credentials will receive 50% of the consideration for admission, and the entrance exam and personal interview will receive 50%.In any case, up-and-comer having NET/SLET will be absolved from composed test.This candidate will only be interviewed in person.The university's website will be updated with the performance-based list of candidates.
