Diploma in Engineering is also
known as Polytechnic. It is a 3 year course for class 10th. In this course
students learn about the principles of scientific methods, computing and
mathematical techniques to solve basic and common problems. They can get a lot
of jobs after the completion of course. The student who wants to pursue this
course should 10th with minimum 50% marks from recognized
university. The admission takes place on the basis of merit and entrance exams.
The subjects like Mathematics and Science is compulsory subjects for admission
in diploma course. The student has to go through entrance exam organised by state
technical education board of state. After the successful completion of diploma
course student can pursue B.Tech/B.E programmes. The students can get admission
in second year of degree programme on the basis of their diploma. They have to
go through entrance exam LET (Lateral Entry Test). It has low fees as compared
to degree programme. The exams for diploma programme can be yearly or semester
system. It has duration of three year for yearly exam course and four year
duration for semester system exam. The four year course has three year of study
and one year industrial training.
