In accordance with the West Bengal Act IV of 2014, which was passed by the West Bengal Legislature and approved by the Governor, the Sachis Kiran Roy Memorial Trust (SKRMT) established the Adamas University. A notification issued by the government made the Adamas University Act, 2014's provisions effective on April 11, 2014 on the same day of West Bengal.

Adamas University, which is in its fifth year of operation and has a sprawling green campus that covers over 100 acres, is located in Barasat, 13 kilometers from the Subash Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata. It aspires to provide the best education to the young minds of West Bengal with a high-quality research facility that is already in place and a strong teaching staff.
